This is for a skull mask based on the tradition of day of the dead or dia de los muertos. This is a holiday I grew up celebrating and continue this tradition today.
One half of the mask is pink and red underglaze mixed into lichen glaze for the texture. The color choice and placement is based on clown (payaso) face painting. The other side is green underglazes and lichen glaze. The teeth were covered in a clear glaze to look like tooth enamel. The size of the mask is 9 1/2 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches wide, and 3 inches deep. The mask has a coated copper wire attached to it so it is ready to hang. Thank you for looking.
